10s TALK
January 2024
Studio Arisaema presented a a conversation panel centering the experiences of Black Trans women vocalists, performers, producers and engineers based in the Twin Cities.
The speakers included M Jamison, Kamilla Love, Ro Lorenzen and ZORA, artists who are emerging as part of the global presence of Black Queer and Trans creatives creating new lanes of access, gaining recognition for their contributions, and cementing their legacies within the music and arts industry.
As transphobia and anti-Blackness propel the legislation of harmful policies, embolden individuals to enact harm, and enable hyperfixation and exploitation of Black queer culture, these artists are working to reclaim space and shift narratives in the Twin Cities' creative ecosystem and beyond.
